Professional biography

2013 -

I work as an independent engineer, developing water chemistry and water technology surveys, analyzes and proposals.

I prepare proposals to reduce heat losses on the water side and flue gas side. As well as for the development of chemical conditioning tailored to on-site conditions, to ensure corrosion- and deposit-free operation.

I am a member of the Hungarian Chamber of Engineers, and as a retired water technologist I still work on a commissioned basis. I have 58 years of experience in water chemistry, water technology and energy management.

I gave lectures on water chemistry and water technology at numerous domestic conferences, twelve of my articles were published in the journals Energy Management, three in Energia és Atomtechnika, and three abroad.

1988 – 2013

As an expert at Nalco Chemical Company, I dealt with the conditioning of power plant and industrial steam-water systems, preparation of make-up water, boiler-cooling and waste water treatment as a market development engineer and later as a technical manager. I was responsible for managing these activities in more than 80 countries. During this time, I participated in the development of complex water treatment for more than 35 combined (gas-steam) cycle power plants, in the training of the operating staff and in the first commissioning of the power plants.

Then I provided foreign market organization and technical support first in the Marketing Group and area of Emerging Countries (more than 80 countries, 11 time zones), later I worked as a senior technical expert in the Power Plant Group of Nalco Europe.

I regularly visited the CIS countries, the countries of the Middle East, Central and North Africa. In the course of my work, I conducted surveys, problem investigations, and held technical and occupational safety trainings for Nalco and the Customer's professionals. I provided technical assistance for the preparation of offers.

I gave lectures internationally - such as at conferences organized by PowerGen in Egypt, Iraq, Poland, Russia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Slovakia, Turkey.

1962 – 1987

25 years of service in Hungary in the field of design, commissioning, maintenance and modernization of water treatment equipment:

- I worked in the analytical determination of alloying and impurity elements of metal alloys as a laboratory technician and deputy head of the laboratory (1962-1965)

- I prepared construction plans for water treatment equipment for industrial and power plant use, as well as carried out water chemistry work during the commissioning of new water treatment systems (1965-1969)

- As a design engineer, I designed and put into operation 36 complete water treatment equipment for light industry plants (1969-1974)

- I worked at the Electrical Energy Research Institute as a scientific associate, mainly involved in the development of power plant water treatment equipment, among other things, based on the laboratory results carried out by the institute. I developed the chemical technological plan for the secondary feed water preparation equipment of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant. The implemented equipment operated flawlessly for more than 30 years (1974 -1979)

- I managed services leading to energy savings at the national level, and worked as a water chemistry and energy management expert for several domestic companies (1979-1987)
